chains. Chains are required for all semi trucks traveling through Parley’s Summit on Interstate 80.

The ski resorts have seen significant accumulations throughout the night with Solitude receiving 16 inches, Brighton and Alta 13 inches and Park City 14 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service.

Two inches of snow has accumulated in Roy.

High temperatures for Sunday in the Salt Lake County will be high 30s to 40s.

Meteorologist Eric Schoening with the weather service said there is a winter storm warning in the mountains and a winter weather advisory for the mountain valleys.

The Utah Avalanche Center hasissued an avalanche warning for the northern Utah mountains.

Schoening said the snow will taper off in Salt Lake valley Sunday afternoon and start up again overnight.

Snow overnight will be heavy in the mountains, Logan and Brigham City.

After Monday, Schoening said, a high pressure will keep Salt Lake valley dry throughout the rest of the week with temperatures climbing into the 40s.

There’s a chance the inversions won’t be as bad because of cloud cover.
