LOGAN, Utah — The Utah State University Aggies delivered a win at home Saturday against the New Mexico Lobos.

The Aggies took to the field on a cold day as they delivered a defeat to New Mexico 28 to 21.

USU scored first on a 1-yard run by LaJuan Hunt, and New Mexico would tie it at 7 in the first quarter after a 1-yard run from David Anya.

The Aggies took the lead again in the second quarter as they scored on a 59-yard run by Devonte Robinson. But 25 seconds later, the Lobos answered back with  a 72-yard run by Romell Jordan that went for a touchdown. The Aggies regained the lead with just under two minutes to play in the half on a 10-yard pass from Kent Myers to Wyatt Houston.

Utah made it 28 points in the third quarter on a JoJo Natson run that went for 48 yards, and though the Lobos made it onto the board again in the fourth quarter on a 59-yard pass from Lamar Jordan to Tyler Duncan, it wasn’t enough to defeat the home team.

USU rushed 36 times for 272 yards and picked up 150 yards in the air for a total of 422 yards. New Mexico put up 400 yards–246 on the ground and another 154 passing yards.

The Aggies improve to 8-3 after the win as the Lobos fall to 3-7. Utah State plays next on November 21, when they will take on the San Jose State Spartans at home in Logan. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
