SALT LAKE CITY -- The first impression many out-of-state visitors get is what they see as they enter Salt Lake City on North Temple, and a new matching grant aims to give a facelift to the businesses along that street.

The program is the result of a partnership involving the Salt Lake Redevelopment Agency, Goldman Sachs, the River District Business Alliance, and Neighbor Works Salt Lake.

The partnership will match up to $5,000 for businesses that invest in upgrading the look of the area. The goal is to make North Temple's row of restaurants, gas stations and thrift stores more visually appealing.

The first company to take advantage of the grant is Furst Construction, see the video above for details and a footage of Thursday’s ribbon-cutting event.
