TAYLORSVILLE, Utah – A teacher whose gun went off in a Taylorsville Elementary bathroom will have to take a gun safety course and replace the broken toilet.
Michelle Ferguson Montgomery, 39, pleaded no contest to discharging the weapon Wednesday.
She will now have to complete a safety course and replace the toilet she broke when her 9mm pistol accidentally went off in the staff bathroom back on Sept. 11.
The teacher suffered a calf injury caused by fragments from the toilet.
