WEST JORDAN, Utah – Family and friends were looking for a West Jordan woman who went missing after leaving a church Sunday, and on Wednesday night the woman was found and reported to be safe.
The woman’s family said 20-year-old Veronica Gutierrez disappeared at about 10 a.m. Sunday, shortly after attending an LDS Church at 7171 South 2700 West in West Jordan.
Her family initially thought she walked home from church, and they said her disappearance was out of character. The woman had the clothes she was wearing, her purse and her cell phone.
West Jordan Police Department officials stated Wednesday evening they had been searching for the woman and were advised Wednesday night that Gutierrez had returned home and that the case is considered to be closed.
