The Jazz add Hamilton and Ingles off Waivers

The following is a press release from the Utah Jazz on adding Jordan Hamilton and Joe Ingles.

SALT LAKE CITY (October 27, 2014) – The Utah Jazz announced today that the team has claimed fourth-year forward/guard Jordan Hamilton and rookie forward Joe Ingles off waivers.  Per team policy, financial terms were not released.  Following the moves, the Jazz roster now stands at 15 players.

 
The 24-year-old Hamilton (6-7, 220, Texas) was waived by the Toronto Raptors on Oct. 25 after appearing in six preseason games with the Raptors, averaging 9.5 points and 3.0 rebounds in 18.3 minutes.  He was signed by the Raptors on Aug. 18. 
 
Hamilton has appeared in 126 career NBA games (15 starts) over three seasons with Denver and Houston, averaging 5.8 points and 2.8 rebounds in 13.3 minutes while shooting .358 (114-318) from three-point range.  He started the 2013-14 season with Denver before being traded to Houston on February 20 in exchange for Aaron Brooks.  For the season, he appeared in 60 games (12 starts) and averaged 6.7 points and 3.2 rebounds in 17.0 minutes, scoring in double figures 20 times.  He was originally drafted by Dallas in the first round (26th overall selection) of the 2011 NBA Draft.  
 
A Los Angeles native, Hamilton played two seasons at the University of Texas (2009-11) and led the Longhorns in scoring (18.6) and ranked second in rebounding (7.7) and minutes played (32.2) during his sophomore campaign.  He was selected to the All-Big 12 First Team.
 
Ingles (6-8, 216, Australia) was waived by the Los Angeles Clippers on Oct. 25 after playing 37 minutes in five preseason games (one start) and totaling six points, five rebounds and five assists.  He was originally signed by the Clippers on Sept. 22.
 
Ingles, 27, played for the Australian National Team in the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup and averaged 11.4 points and 3.4 assists.  Ingles spent the 2013-14 season with Maccabi Tel Aviv of the Israeli Premier League, where he played for current Cleveland Cavaliers coach David Blatt and helped Maccabi to win the Euroleague Championship.  Ingles played three seasons for FC Barcelona (2010-13) of the Liga ACB, and played for Australia in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. 
 
A native of Australia, Ingles started his professional career with the South Dragons of the National Basketball League (NBL), where he earned Rookie of the Year honors in 2007. He played for the Dragons for three seasons, earning All-NBL Third Team in 2009 as the team captured the NBL Championship. He spent the 2009-10 season with CB Granada in Spain averaging 11.0 points and 4.1 rebounds in 34 games.  Ingles has also participated in the NBA Summer League for the Golden State Warriors in 2009 and 2010.
