SALT LAKE CITY — Police are looking for a suspect in an aggravated robbery at a Subway restaurant Thursday night.

The robbery occurred at a Subway in the Sugar House neighborhood, near 900 E 2100 S, around 10 p.m.

An employee at the restaurant told police a Latino man entered the restaurant and asked for a glass of water and loitered for a while before getting aggressive.

“He kind of hung out, went to the bathroom, stayed around for about 5 minutes and got real aggressive,” said Lt. Eddie Cameron, SLCPD. “[He] came up to the clerk, told him he had a gun, threatened to shoot him. No gun was seen. The clerk gave him the money from the till.”

Police said the suspect then ran out of the store and went east.

Officers and a K-9 unit searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.

Witnesses described the suspect as a Latino man, 5 feet 8 inches tall and about 28-years-old, with a bald head and a three-letter tatto on the left side of his neck.

Police said the same restaurant has been robbed on at least two other occasions in the last year.
