COPPERTON TOWNSHIP, Utah — Three juveniles involved in a rollover accident early Sunday morning near Copperton Township have been located with minor injuries, according to Unified Police.

At approximately 4 a.m., Unified Police responded to the accident that took place near 8400 West and 10200 South.

A witness to the accident told police three children crawled out from the wreckage of the car and then ran away. The witness also said the children were bleeding, and police found blood in the car.

Police began searching Copperton and nearby fields for the missing children.

Roughly an hour later, a 14-year-old and two preteen children believed to be the children who fled from the scene were located by a Unified Police officer near 110000 South on the Mountain View Corridor.

They were taken to an area hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.

The 14-year-old was then taken to the detention center and the younger boys were released to their parents.

Officers said the teenager was driving the car when it rolled. The car belonged to his uncle, but the boy took a set of keys to the car from his mother after she fell asleep. He could face a felony charge for the incident due to the amount of damage the car sustained in the accident.
