A pair of missionaries serving with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints rescued some ducklings from a storm drain in New Zealand, and this week the video of their efforts made it to the front page of Reddit–an aggregating website that draws more than a hundred million visitors each month and calls itself, “the front page of the Internet.”

Reddit’s many millions of monthly visitors mean that content that rises to the front page–all submissions can be voted up or down by users so that the content that is featured is determined by users–gains viral status. The video was shot in 2010, but it didn’t catch much attention until it made it to the front page of Reddit earlier this week. FOX 13 News reached out to the Reddit user who posted the video for comment, but that user stated they had just posted the video and weren’t directly involved in saving the ducklings or shooting the footage.
