SALT LAKE CITY – Those in downtown Salt Lake City Saturday may have spotted several classic cars as well as some hot rods, and the vehicular eye-candy was in town for a charitable cause.

The second annual Cruzin for Cops Car Show was held at the Public Safety Building, 475 S. 300 East, and the free show lets classic car and motorcycle owners showcase their rides for a suggested $20 donation.

Lt. Lamar Ewell, President of the Salt Lake City Police Mutual Aid Association, spoke about the event.

"I mean, look at these amazing cars,” Ewell said. “The owners of these cars come down and highlight their cars and show all the work that they've put into them, the details, they're amazing."

The money raised by the show goes toward the Salt Lake City Police Mutual Aid Association, which helps police department personnel who are going through medical or financial hardships.

The tradition is expected to continue, and the event is scheduled to be held again next year during Labor Day weekend.
