The Transplant Games of America were held recently in Houston, and 19 members from the Utah/Idaho team competed in the games--which include Olympic-style events like swimming, cycling, track and field and others.
Rick Lilly is the recipient of a donated kidney and Amy Peterson is a kidney donor; the pair of them came to the FOX 13 News Studio Friday to discuss the Utah/Idaho team's performance at the games and how that relates to overcoming the obstacles faced by those in need of transplants.
The games are designed to honor those who have donated organs to save lives as well as raise awareness about the need for organ donors. For more information, visit the Transplant Games of America's website.
