About $100,000 in damages after vacant home catches on fire

OGDEN, Utah – Officials are investigating after a vacant home in Ogden caught fire early Saturday morning.

The fire was at a home at 2149 Quincy Ave. and it occurred around 2:30 a.m.

Officials said the two-story home was engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived. It took them about 20 minutes to control the fire and about an hour to extinguish the blaze.

One firefighter suffered minor injuries in connection with the fire. He was treated and later released.

Three engines, one ambulance, one Paramedic Rescue, a battalion chief and a fire marshal along with 15 firefighters responded.

The damages to the home are estimated to be about $100,000. The home was vacant, and no residents have been displaced due to the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
