SALT LAKE CITY – Two teenagers were stabbed after an altercation in Liberty Park on Thursday night.

Police say that at around 8:30 p.m., two small groups that knew each other began arguing, and the altercation became physical. An 18-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen, and as his friend, also 18 years old, came forward to attempt to help him, the friend was also stabbed by the suspect.

Gang investigators say they know who the 20-year-old suspect is and they are actively searching for him.

The injured teens were transported to the hospital, and their conditions have stabilized.
