CRESTVIEW, Fla. – Police said they have arrested a woman after she allegedly left her dog in a hot car, and it died, while she shopped at Walmart for 13 hours.

Florida’s WPEC reported another Walmart shopper discovered the dog, “Waldo,” in the parking lot.

Officers arrested 49-year-old Cassaundra Rasmussen after finding no food or water in the car.

Authorities said the windows were cracked but the soaring temperatures were still too much for the pup.

According to police, Rasmussen was in the store, “browsing” for about 13 hours.

When officers confronted her, she said she forgot Waldo was in the car.

Rasmussen is now facing misdemeanor animal cruelty charges.
