2 teens arrested in connection with vandalism in Daybreak, police say

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah — Two teens were arrested in connection with the vandalism to homes and property in Daybreak in May.

Gage Chatwin, 18, of West Jordan, and CarterGubler, 18, of South Jordan, were identified as the suspects from video surveillance obtained from one of the model homes.

The vandalism occurred on May 13 when South Jordan Police responded to the East Lake Model Home Village in Daybreak, located in the area of 4700 West and 10600 South.

Police had received reports that numerous model homes and vehicles were vandalized during the night.

Damage was estimated to be nearly $10,000.

According to a probable cause statement, Chatwin and Gubler identified themselves in the surveillance photos and admitted to spray painting the model homes, trailer, signs, utility boxes and boathouse.

The Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office filed numerous third-degree felony charges of graffiti and burglary against both Chatwin and Gubler.
