SUGAR HOUSE, Utah -- Cyclists and pedestrians can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

The Draw at Sugar House is open to the public. The tunnel connects The Sugar House Park to the Hidden Hollow area to create a continuous 9 mile trail with little to no traffic interaction. The $5 million project has been in the works for more than a decade.

"We wanted to make this a safe connection,” said Ben McAdams, who is the Salt Lake County mayor. “We have so many people visiting Sugar House Park, and to get back and forth you're passing a very busing street on 1300 East. This will make it more safe, so we're really excited about this."

But even though the Draw is open to the public there is still more work that needs to be done, including artwork in and around the tunnel along with a public patio in the shape of a sego lilly.
