OGDEN, Utah – Officials plan to close 500 South, SR-68, in Woods Cross west of I-15 for about a week beginning Sunday as crews replace a railroad crossing.

Personnel with the Union Pacific Railroad will be replacing the railroad crossing located at about 795 W. 500 South in Woods Cross, and the work is expected to begin Sunday morning and finish Friday, May 23.

According to a press release from Utah Department of Transportation Officials:

“westbound through traffic on 500 South will be blocked at the railroad crossing. While locations on both sides of the crossing will have access from 500 South, motorists and shippers must use alternate routes to access these sites.

Local residents should use 400 North (Exit 317) to bypass the crossing replacement work. Industrial and truck traffic should use 2600 South westbound, or north-bound I-215 to Redwood Road (SR-68) and then follow it north to access the refineries, other industries and businesses on west 500 South in Woods Cross and West Bountiful. The I-15 500 South (Exit 316) off- and on-ramps will remain open during this work.”
