SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Jazz plan to reach out to former team member John Stockton to see if he is interested in being the team’s head coach, according to a report by ESPN.

The position became open last month, when the team announced former head coach Tyrone Corbin’s contract would not be renewed.

“In Stockton’s case, asking where he stands on coaching, if nothing else, is a natural due-diligence strategy for the Jazz,” the report said.

Interesting thought on Boylen: If he had a rocky stint as the head coach of UTEP, then went on to have significant success as an NBA assistant, would you think the same way about him? Maybe the answer is yes, but I think it’s a fair question.

Former coach Jerry Sloan did a remarkable job, and let his players know who was running the show. Instead of renaming the Delta Center “EnergySolutions Arena” they should have named it the “Sloan Center”.

Stockton would be a natural and bring back some spirit. I agree with the comment on Boylen.. He ruined the Utes and destroyed the fan base.
