WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — After a yearlong search, the Metro Gang Unit took its Public Enemy No. 1 into custody early Saturday morning.

Unified Police discovered the whereabouts of Rodrigo Scott Burquez, 22, after they received a tip that he would be at a party in West Valley City.

Officers responded to 3790 S. Granger Drive at about 5 a.m. when they noticed some people that fit Burquez’s description, officials said.

When officers did a loud-party check at the house, two to three people fled.

Police say after a small scuffle, Burquez as well as the homeowner were arrested.

Burquez is wanted on assault and robbery charges.

The homeowner was arrested after drugs including mushrooms, marijuana, heroin and methamphetamine were found in the residence.

Both were booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.
