SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City police said a man admitted to stealing five vehicles after he was caught trying to sell a stolen bicycle.

Austin Mills, 20, allegedly used an online classified ad service to put up a listing for the bike.

Police said the owner of the bike saw the listing and arranged to meet up with Mills.

Officers responded to a 7-Eleven store at 776 S 1300 E after the bike’s owner met with Mills and confirmed the bike was his.

When police arrived at the scene, they discovered Mills had allegedly driven there in a stolen vehicle.

“We were able to solve six different vehicle theft cases as well as a stolen bike case and take someone into custody that was wanted on felony warrants,” said Sgt. Robin Heiden, Salt Lake City Police Department.
