SALT LAKE CITY — The deadline for open enrollment in the federal marketplace for health insurance created under the Affordable Care Act is today,  though the deadline has been extended for people with complex situations.

Arches Health Plan in Utah is offering help to people who may need someone to walk them through the health insurance process.

You can call Arches from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Their number is (801) 770-1808. You can also click here to visit their website.

The Utah Health Policy Project, United Way and Utah Association for Community Health have navigators trained at locations around the state. Click here to visit their website. Just type in your zip code to find experts nearby.

Healthcare.gov is another option. The website was reportedly having issues Monday morning, but they will take calls at 1-800-318-2596.

The deadline to at least start the registration process is 9:59 p.m. tonight.

Earlier this month, data indicated thousands of Utah families were uninsured. FOX 13 News’ Kiersten Nuñez spoke with a family who navigated the process, click here for details.

Healthcare-dot-gov is still down (as of 1pm MDT).
If you haven’t signed up yet, here’s what you need to do:
1-Register on healthcare-dot-gov. This will require entering your name, address, and an email address. Once you register, the website will send a confirmation email to your email address. Click on it. You still might not be able to log-in or shop for plans, but you will have registered before the deadline.
2-Call 1-800-318-2596 and leave your phone number saying you want to enroll. this creates a paper-trail indicating that you tried to apply before the March 31st deadline.
3-If you register to try to apply (over the phone) before 10pm March 31st, you will have several weeks in April to complete your application, calculate you premium subidy, and select a health insurance plan.
