Orem Police Lt. Craig Martinez said the accident happened near Orchard Elementary School, 1035 North 800 East, around 7:23 a.m.

Martinez said the crossing guard was in the crosswalk, wearing an orange vest and holding a stop sign, when he was hit by a vehicle. He was taken to an area hospital to be treated for neck injuries.
