FARMINGTON, Utah -- Learning about the laws of the land may be boring for young children, so a group of third-grade students put a spin on the lesson by combining courtroom drama with fairy tale fiction.

Third-grade students from Endeavour Elementary School spent the day in a real courtroom with a real judge as they put a fairy tale character on trial.

Students played the roles of attorneys, jurors and witnesses as they worked to determine if a pig was guilty of trying to boil the Big Bad Wolf. Teacher Kathy Kay said the trial was the result of many months of hard work.

"These kids tried out for it, they auditioned, and I picked the kids I thought would be the best for each role," she said. "And these children have worked very hard, it's been two months that they've been working on their script, they've memorized it."
