PROVO, Utah -- The 17-year-old girl accused of driving the getaway car in the shootings of two Utah County officers appeared in court Monday morning.

Meagan Dakota Grunwald faces 17 charges, mostly felonies, including aggravated murder, attempted murder and obstruction of justice.

Grunwald's attorney wanted to lower the teen's bail from $1 million to $100,000. Her attorney claimed Grunwald is a scared teen who has never been in trouble before, and she is also a victim in the case.

Prosecutors argued that Grunwald was an aggressive participant in themurder of Sgt. Cory Wride, the wounding of  Deputy Greg Sherwood and the carjacking of a woman who had a baby in the backseat. They said they consider Grunwald a threat to the community, and her bail should not be reduced at all.

The judge agreed with prosecutors, and chose not to reduce the bail. Grunwald will remain in the Salt Lake County Adult Detention Center on a $1 million cash only bond.

Grunwald is expected to appear in court for a two-day preliminary hearing April 16 and 17.
