Deer Valley PARK CITY, Utah — An Instagram photo of a cocktail menu is giving Deer Valley Resort in Park City some unwanted attention.

The cocktail menu features a drink called “Kotsenburg Park City Gold,” which is named after gold medalist snowboarder and Park City resident Sage Kotsenburg.

Deer Valley Resort officials began to get angry messages regarding the menu because snowboarders are not allowed on Deer Valley slopes.

In a statement, Deer Valley Resort spokeswoman Emily Summers said the resort did not create, print or distribute the cocktail menu. She said it was created by a private club located near the resort called Talisker Tower, which is not owned or operated by Deer Valley.

Summers said the business has been contacted and asked to remove the menu item. You can read her full statement below:

Deer Valley Resort did not create, print or distribute the cocktail menu in the Instagram photo. The image does not have the Deer Valley Resort logo or name included and the drink is not being offered by Deer Valley Resort. Deer Valley Resort would not use the name of an athlete without prior agreement or sponsorship. We have located the source of the menu and they are a private club located near Deer Valley Resort but not owned or operated by the resort. Please be assured we have already contacted them and asked them to remove the menu item. We congratulate Sage Kotsenburg on his accomplishments in Sochi and apologize for the property that used his name in this manner.
