SALT LAKE CITY – A young boy who is battling cancer had a dream come true Thursday as he was made an honorary firefighter.

Dylan Huddleston and his family are staying at the Ronald McDonald House, since the family’s insurance doesn’t cover Dylan’s treatment.

Doctors say Dylan doesn’t have much time to live, but thanks to the Mascot Miracles Foundation and the Utah Falconz, funds were raised to help with medical expenses and Dylan was honored as a firefighter.

Hiroko Jolley owns the Utah Falconz, and she said they are glad to help.

“We find these children and these families who are in need of just having some smiles,” she said. “Some of these kids, like Dylan, aren’t able to make it, and we have other kids that come through, this foundation is for both the heroes that come through the cancer and also the angels that leave us.”
