SALT LAKE CITY —  The Utah Jazz tipped-off their annual holiday season of giving Wednesday at Energy Solutions Arena by providing food to those in need.

The We Care – We Share Thanksgiving Dinner was expected to provide more than 3,600 holiday meals to those in need, and it’s the first in a series of events the Utah Jazz will participate in along with Miller Sports Properties.

Gale Miller, Miller Sports Properties, said they enjoy helping out.

“We partner with Utah Food Services and with the mission and invite the people into our homes, so we like being able to do it,” Miller said. “We like to see their response. We bring them in out of the cold. We have a station where they can get clothing and a warm meal and we’re just happy to do it.”

The Jazz will participate in other outreach events over the coming months, including hospital visits, appearing at the Stop Hunger Now event benefiting the Philippines, charitable auctions and a holiday visit to Hill Air Force Base.
