SALT LAKE CITY -- The vast majority of Utahns will eat some turkey Thursday, but most of them don't know where their bird comes from.

For some, they'd rather not know and just enjoy the feast, while others look for locally grown food, but more and more people say they prefer to buy their birds locally.

Utah Natural Meats sells organic meats, and people are willing to pay $5 a pound for it.

“We are not like a grocery store that has everything all the time,” said Farmer Shayn Bowler. “We have the amount we produce on our farm. They do make a special effort. Line up and wait.”

An estimated 46 million turkeys will be stuffed, baked, and served on Thanksgiving.

That's 690 million pounds shared between us, according to the National Turkey Federation.
