SALT LAKE CITY – A recent court filing provides details about electronic records that are missing from the Utah Attorney General’s Office as investigations into Attorney General John Swallow continue.

Allegations of impropriety arose in January regarding Swallow, and in July the Utah House voted to create a committee to investigate.

In late October it was revealed that electronic documents from the AG’s office were missing.

According to court documents, the lost information includes a “potentially large number of emails” as well as a “potentially significant number of calendar entries” as well as all of the information from state-provided devices, like a desktop computer, laptop and PDA, from before 2013 and information contained on Swallow’s home computer’s hard drive, which is not working.

The documents also indicate that, although allegations first arose in January, an order for a “document hold” on potentially relevant information wasn’t issued at the Attorney General’s Office until September.

The documents are available in their entirety here.
