SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Dancers in Utah came together to raise funds for children in need, and Saturday’s event kicks-off the third year of the Will Dance For Kids Project.

The annual charity event benefits the Utah Food Bank, and Saturday’s kick-off event allowed dancers to enter the fundraising dance competition, which will be held next March.

Dancers brought a jar of peanut butter as their entry fee, which is a staple of the Utah Food Bank Kids Backpack Program. Saturday’s event featured sample dance battles, drawings and prizes, spotlights and professional dancers.

Penny Broussard is the director of the Will Dance for Kids Project, and she said it’s a unique chance to serve.

“All the kids inside that are dancing are dancing to help feed other kids,” she said. “They're very fortunate, and it's really a good life lesson for them to learn that they can use their talents to help other kids.”

The dance competition will be held March 7 and 8 at Taylorsville High School. For more information, click here.
