SALT LAKE CITY -- The man who calls himself Utah’s gun lobby was back in court Monday trying to get his firearms back.

Clark Aposhian squared off with his ex-wife, Natalie Meyer, who is seeking a protective order against him. Meyer testified in court saying she spent five years trying to get away from Aposhian and that she was scared he would physically harm her.

Aposhian is facing criminal charges after he allegedly drove a 2.5-ton military vehicle on Meyer’s driveway and threatened her current husband. Since then he was ordered to hand over his weapons.

Aposhian’s attorneys say Meyer’s claims are unfounded and she just wants to go after their client’s livelihood. The attorneys also went through a slew of old court filings and complaints that do not mention Meyer’s fear of Aposhian.

Attorneys alluded throughout the proceedings that Meyer wants custody of their daughter.
