SPRINGVILLE, Utah — A 23-year-old Mapleton man died Thursday night in a crash in Springville.

Utah Highway Patrol officials said Cameron Warren Foster was traveling south on the west frontage road next to I-15 at the time of the crash.

Foster was driving a black 2004 Nissan 350z coupe when he lost control of the vehicle and slid off the right side of the road.

The driver’s side door collided with a power pole, which split in half and was ripped out of the ground.

The vehicle then collided with a flatbed trailer parked on the right side of the road.

Power lines fell and draped over the trailer and vehicle.

UHP troopers investigated the crash and said Foster was speeding and was not wearing a seat belt.

Drugs and alcohol did not appear to be a factor, a news release said.
