Fugitive leads police on high-speed chase

WEST JORDAN — A fugitive wanted on drug charges was taken into custody Friday morning after leading police on a high-speed chase, police said.

Unified Police officers attempted to pull over a vehicle at 1:31 a.m. for a traffic violation when the motorist took off north on Redwood Road at a high rate of speed.

Police said Adam Scott Haslam, 28, traveled west on Utah State Route 201, got off at 7200 West and traveled back south. Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said the Department of Public Safety helicopter was in the air at the time and assisted with located the suspect.

Spikes were laid out at 5400 S. 5600 West. Haslam pulled over shortly after running over them.

Haslam was taken into custody without further incident and booked into Salt Lake County Jail.
