WEST JORDAN — A plea deal is in the works for a man charged in connection with a Midvale triple murder.

During a brief court appearance in 3rd District Court, Davis Fotu’s attorney indicated that a resolution was being worked out and asked for more time. A hearing was scheduled for next week.

Outside of court, Fotu’s attorney, Rudy Bautista, told FOX 13 his client was ready to reach a deal with prosecutors.

“It’s nice to put this behind him and move forward on the matter,” he said. “He’s looking forward to it. This was a difficult situation that he found himself in, and he’s looking forward to putting it behind him.”

Fotu is charged with obstruction of justice in connection with the deaths of Omar Jarman, Shontay Young and Danielle Lucero back in February. The three were shot to death inside a Midvale home. David Fresques, 25, is charged with three counts of aggravated murder in the slayings.

A motive for the slayings, as well as Fotu’s role in the case, remains unknown. Bautista said Fotu’s role will be revealed when he enters a plea deal.
