SALT LAKE CITY – Primary Children’s Medical Center received a grant of $250,000 on Friday from Salt Lake area car dealers.

The funds are from Hyundai Hope on Wheels, and the money will go toward helping the work of Dr. Annie Kirchhoff, who is working to improve long-term care for pediatric oncology patients.

Kirchhoff said they are working to make sure patients have the information they need.

“So basically what it is, is to make sure that we give the patients and their families comprehensive information after they finish their cancer therapy, and so basically what this will be is it will be  documents that they can take with them throughout wherever they receive treatment after they’re done with their cancer, so it will be both electronically— so they can access it through the internet—but also sort of as a hard copy, so that they have an ability to be able to know this information to really empower themselves,” she said.
