DRAPER, Utah—Authorities have released copies of several 911 calls from the day Sgt. Derek Johnson of the Draper City Police Department was shot and killed.

Johnson was allegedly ambushed as he approached an oddly parked vehicle, and  one of the occupants, Timothy Troy Walker, allegedly opened fire on Johnson, killing him.

Tapes of multiple 911 calls from the morning of Sept. 1 were released, and in them residents can be heard describing the incident and relaying information to dispatchers.

"I woke up and it sounds like, I heard about five to six gunshots outside my window," one caller said.

"We just woke up to shooting, and there's people screaming," another caller told authorities.

Audio of several of the calls is available by clicking below (there is no video to accompany the audio). The calls have been edited to omit some of the callers' personal information.
