SALT LAKE CITY — A storm system is heading northeast with the heaviest rains falling in the mountains, according to the National Weather Service Sunday morning.

The storm comes after communities in Salt Lake County were flooded during heavy rainfall Saturday afternoon. Areas most affected were Herriman and West Jordan.

About .24 inches of precipitation fell in Herriman and .16 inches in Salt Lake City.

Meteorologist Linda Chang said the rain will wind down this afternoon. The coming week will not be completely clear, but it will be much drier.
