SALT LAKE CITY –Officials from the Running with The Bulls Festival have plans to have the event in Utah in 2014 — but the event is not yet planned with the city, officials said Monday.

Phil Immordino, event promoter, said he is still in negotiations with Salt Lake City. Although the bull run will take place on private, the event still needs a festival permit.

The announcement of the festival’s visit to Utah came Aug. 23. Their plan is to add Salt Lake City to their 2014 Festival calendar. Participants in the event will not only try to avoid the bulls, but will attempt to win more than $10,000.

“The Running with the Bulls Festivals have been wildly successful over the years,” said Phil Immordino, the event organizer, in a press release. “And this year it’s going to be about big bulls, big bucks and big fun.”

According to a press release, the weekend long festival not only features running with bulls, but it also includes two days of the “Great Bull Battle of the Bands,” exhibitors, entertainment and rides.

The popularity and success of previous festivals prompted organizers to add Salt Lake City to the list of festival sites.

“We have had hundreds of past runners and sponsors asking us to expand our event calendar, so we are excited about adding Salt Lake City, and continuing our role as pioneers in these exciting Running with the Bulls events,” Immordino said.

The Running with the Bulls Festival will also be held in Cave Creek, Ariz., Las Vegas and Phoenix.
