PROVO, Utah — A SWAT team was involved in a standoff situation in a Provo neighborhood Friday.
The standoff began at a home near at 680 West 1100 South when a 34-year-old man allegedly fired off a gun in his backyard.
Homes in the area were evacuated as precaution.
Police said the man was intoxicated and upset about a personal matter. They said they were able to successfully communicate with him, and he eventually surrendered himself to police.
No injuries were reported.
