Cosplay games generate buzz for Salt Lake City Comic Con

SALT LAKE CITY – Comic Con is coming to downtown Salt Lake City in September, and Saturday a whole bunch of costumed superheroes and super villains wandered the streets taking pictures of notable landmarks.

The participants were part of a scavenger hunt called Cosplay games, which was brought about as a way to draw attention to the upcoming convention.

Event volunteer Kira Luke said she leapt at the opportunity to get involved.

“I’ve never done anything like this before,” she said. “I’ve just been trying to get a Comic Con pass, and I heard that there was an opportunity to do this, and mask was kind enough to provide the costumes for me, so I jumped right on it.”

Comic Con will be in Salt Lake City for the first time September 5th, 6th and 7th. It will feature celebrity guests like William Shatner, Adam West, Burt Ward and others.
