WEST JORDAN — Roads in West Jordan reopened Wednesday, after crews worked to repair damage after a power outage Monday afternoon.

A thunderstorm wind gust knocked 37 power poles down that left 3,035 residents without power, according to the National Weather Service.

Utah State Route 111 was closed from 8200 South to 10200 South while crews worked to repair the damage, but have since reopened

New Bingham Highway is also reopened from 6400 West to Copperton.

The damage occurred near the intersection of S.R. 111 and New Bingham Highway. The power poles were knocked out after a metal pole supporting the traffic light bent, the weather service reported.

Wind gusts were recorded at 42 and 45 miles per hour.
