DELTA, Utah -- A popular sporting goods store in Delta burned to the ground early Monday morning.

Cause of the blaze is unknown, but officials’ early theory is a lightning strike.

The Delta Sports Center, off of Highway 6, has been in the community for more than three decades selling everything from guns and ammo to fishing gear and ATVs to customers from all over the state and the west.

Crews were called to the scene at about 10 p.m. Sunday. As bullets from the store’s inventory burst into flames, firefighters continued to worked through the night to contain the fire.
