SALT LAKE CITY - A cyclist is in critical condition after being hit by a car on 500 South near 500 West in Salt Lake City.
The incident occurred on the 500 South on-ramp to westbound I-80 and southbound I-15 just before 9 p.m. Monday.
Police say the 53-year-old cyclist was riding southbound along 500 West against a red light when he was hit by an SUV.
The bicyclist was hospitalized in extremely critical condition.
Police say the female driver of the SUV will likely not be charged because the cyclist ran a red light.
