SALT LAKE CITY — President Obama ordered flags at the White House and federal buildings across the country to be lowered to half-staff to honor the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.
Gov. Gary Herbert echoed the order for flags at state buildings in Utah. The flag on the capitol building was lowered, as were flags at churches and local government buildings across the state. The same thing is being done at cities around the country as a show of respect and as a tribute to the victims.
The flags will be flown at half-staff until sunset on Saturday.
