RICHFIELD, Utah – A 10-year-old boy is facing charges after police say he brought a gun to school.
The fifth grade boy is charged with theft of a firearm and having a firearm at school after Richfield City Police say a principal found the gun in his backpack.
Police say the handgun was stolen from a family friend the night before, but no one knew about it.
The boy was suspended from Phavant Elementary and could be expelled.
