PROVO, Utah — A fire at a Brigham Young University museum sent up a large plume of black smoke Monday morning, but none of the exhibits at the museum were damaged, according to a twitter account associated with the museum.

The fire happened around 11 a.m. at the Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum.

“Everything seems to be contained now. All is good, if a bit charred,” said a tweet from @beanmuseum on twitter at about 11:45 a.m.

The museum is currently closed due to construction and is expected to reopen this fall, according to a message on the museum’s website.

“Most of our exhibits are in storage because of construction. None were in the area,” another @beanmuseum tweet said.
