TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — Unified Police arrested a wanted fugitive Thursday afternoon after receiving a call about an assault in Taylorsville.

Police said they found the suspect with a stolen pickup truck at a Little Caesar’s Pizza restaurant at 3900 W and 5400 S.

The suspect attempted to flee the scene. An officer tried to stop the vehicle using a PIT maneuver, but it didn’t work. The suspect then sped forward, crashing into another police vehicle.

Three police cruisers kept the truck boxed in as officers began to subdue the suspect. A dog jumped out of the truck and started attacking the officers. One of the officers shot and killed the dog.

The suspect’s identity was not released.
