WEST JORDAN, Utah - A UPS driver helped save a family as their West Jordan home went up in flames on Tuesday afternoon.
The fire started just before 1 p.m. at 2818 West Dimond Drive (7650 South).
The driver knocked on the front door of the home as fire was quickly spreading from a shed in the backyard to the house.
The homeowner and his two adult step-sons were able to get out of the house. The homeowner grabbed a hose and tried putting out the fire, but was unsuccessful.
Fire crews worked to douse the fire as it spread from the shed, to the garage, then the attic, causing about $150,000 in damages.
The two adult men are fine, but the homeowner was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
