NWS: Snow expected to begin Tuesday night

Winter weather is returning for many areas of Utah this week.

A storm is expected to move in Tuesday night and last through Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service. While the storm will be around for a several days, there will be lulls in the snow fall.

NWS has issued a winter storm warning for the mountain areas of southern and central Utah, where one to two feet of snow is possible through Thursday morning.

The northern mountains may also see one to two feet of snow, while most valleys are expected to get two to five inches of snow through Thursday.

A second system is expected to arrive on Friday and move through the region quickly, according to NWS. This storm is expected to produce only minimal amounts of snow in northern Utah.

A third storm on Saturday is expected to bring more widespread snow and will likely impact travel, according to NWS.
