SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Transit Authority is adjusting FrontRunner schedules to better match commuter needs and more accurately reflect transit times.

Loading and unloading passengers takes longer than was predicted during testing, and this is one of the issues the new changes aim to resolve.

UTA Spokesperson Gerry Carpenter said UTA will also be adding more trips between Ogden and Provo to the route, and they’re extending peak hours as well.

“We’ll now extend those [peak hours] by about two hours, both in the morning and in the afternoon,” he said. “So overall more service, and hopefully our schedules will be a little more accurate for our customers who are coming to catch the train.”

There will also be changes to bus routes and schedules in Provo, Salt Lake City and Ogden. Click here to see which routes and schedules will be altered. The schedule changes will be implemented on February 19.
